This week, the annual World Travel Market took place at ExCel, London. As always, businesses from all around the world meet in this impressive venue where the next stand is more impressive than the last.
The WTM is one of the world’s leading trade events for the travel industry and as soon as you enter, you are met by countless of colours, sounds, smells and impressions. At the end of a day there you will want to travel to Kenya for a safari, the Canary Islands for a bit of sun and to Romania for a trekking experience all at the same time.
The great mix of travel providers from around the world was accompanied by various travel tech companies, offering tech solutions that help businesses increase bookings. The interesting combination of everything from small startups to large operations such as TripAdvisor got the conversation going, and the intelligent softwares on the market today are nothing less than amazing. Never before have there been that many opportunities for travel companies to automate their booking process with live updates, translate websites and optimise pricing. The supply of all these services makes everyone an expert in their field and competition is harder than ever – but also more interesting than ever.
We had an absolute blast during our visit where we travelled through Asia, Europe and Africa in a couple of hours. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
