What is the 2019 London Marathon Route?
The London Marathon starts in Blackheath, then heads on east through Charlton and Woolwich for about 3 miles, and then turns west and passes the Cutty Sark in Greenwich after 6-7 miles.
After that, the runners cross the River Thames at Tower Bridge and then loop around the east end of London, past the financial glamour of Canary Wharf in the London Docklands, before shooting west again along the Highway and the Embankment to Parliament Square, Birdcage Walk and then heading round the final corner in front of Buckingham Palace.
That’s a hell of a run!

A standard entry usually costs £39, or £35 if you happen to be affiliated with a running club. Overseas entries cost £80. However, registration is free.
