Known by some as the Mecca of shopping for tourists and travellers, Themel is ideal for anything from non-designer clothes, Pashmina Shawls, Khukuris, artifacts and more. If you like to bargain then good, because so do the proprietors.

Civil Mall

One of the biggest malls in Nepal, this has everything. Whether you’re looking for a cinema, shops, food stalls, games, bowling alleys or more activities to let your hair down, this is where you need to go in your own spare time. Who knows, maybe your clients or colleagues would like a game of mini golf or a bowling competition. You’ll find it difficult to get bored.

Kings Way

Ideal if you’re missing big brands or want to try out one of the posher areas of Kathmandu. Classed as Kings Way by tourists, you’ll find brands like McDonalds, Reebok and others spread out over the street. Perfect for having a day out shopping and eating,  pencil this in on your trip.

New Road

With one of the oldest malls, Bishal Bazar, situated here (perfect for buying gemstones and other accessories) alongside countless other stores, you’ll find what you need and more than you can expect. It’s not surprising that it’s popular among locales. Maybe it’ll be your ideal shopping location too.
