Alternatively, for western cuisine, there’s Pinchun France Teppanyaki or Gukemeng France Gourmet Restaurant. Visitors will also find familiar fast food offerings from KFC and McDonalds.

Shopping

Jiangxi’s main city, Nanchang, offers plenty of fantastic shopping opportunities - from sprawling modern plazas to traditional craft markets. On the east bank of the river, you’ll find Wanda Plaza offers a good selection of fashion and consumer goods, as well as familiar brands, including Nike and Walmart. On the other side, Honghuilong Shopping Center is the main location for those seeking a one-stop-shop. Alternatively, for souvenir hunters, there’s Hongcheng Market.

Attractions

One of the major attractions in Jiangxi is are the white cranes that migrate to Poyang Lake to spend their winter - a spectacle which draws visitors from all over the world. There’s also the pavilion of Prince Teng,  located just west of Nanchang and is one of three famous pavilions south of the Yangtze River and an important historical site. Another must-see is the Nanchang the August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall - a preserved property documenting the history of the region’s most turbulent eras.

Transport

Nanchang has an advanced traffic network of trains, buses,  and water taxis, making it quick and convenient to get around. However, the wider Jiangxi province is a little more inconsistent when it comes to public transport coverage. Buses run to most of the major tourist hotspots and historical landmarks, but those wishing to explore further are advised to consider private vehicle hire.

Local Business

Nanchang is the economic powerhouse of the Jiangxi province, with the agricultural, financial and manufacturing sectors all playing an important role. The Ford Motor Company has a large production plant in the city, which along with Hongdu Aviation Industry Group is one of the major employers in the city. Wider Jiangxi is also rich in mineral resources, with Dexing and Dayu County being major mining regions.
