Things to do in Maidenhead

Introduction

A large town in Berkshire, Maidenhead rests on the south-western bank of the River Thames. Initially a small Roman settlement called Alaunodunum and once the busiest coaching town in Victorian times, it has now become a thriving place with great links to London and can be considered as a commuter town.

There are plenty of attractions here and in neighbouring areas that will keep business travellers occupied during their trip. These include ones like the Thames Path and Dorney Court that offer spectacular views and are rich in history. Visitors will not be disappointed by the restaurants and cafes that can be found for eating out in the evening; from fine French food to a cafe where you can feast and play Crazy Golf afterwards. A High Street populated with big brands and local independent businesses offers plenty for the shopaholics, but the Nicholson’s Shopping Centre offers even more for those that require it. All in all, Maidenhead has all that the business traveller needs to kick back and to have a great stay.

Rail links are substantial in the area, with Great Western services to London, Reading and Oxford running frequently. Maidenhead will soon be part of the Elizabeth Line that is currently under construction, providing quicker services between the home counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex. Local bus services around the area are sufficient and reliable for travellers, with the A4 and M4 ideal for drivers.
