Renovated 1 bedroom in Greenwich Village

Very good, 4.2 from 2 reviews

Union Square , New York

A stunning 1 bedroom apartment in a typical NYC brownstone building flaunting its standard issue fire escape like a trophy. This beautiful abode is perfectly balanced with generous proportions and in one of Manhattan’s most desirable districts.

With internal glazed French doors, playful striped fabrics and baroque picture rails adorning the walls this elegant apartment feels decidedly European. Combined with the unstructured winding streets of Greenwich Village, a result of the original settlements developed here prior to the 19th Century grid-plan, and you could be on the other side of the Atlantic.

Tanned hardwood floors, chic furnishings and a bright, neutral theme throughout makes this space inviting and comfortable. The epitome of class but the antonym of stuffy. Chunky wooden fixtures in the kitchen create a rustic feel where the convivial preparation of a meal could become the fondest of memories.

The beautiful bedroom is vast with high ceilings – leave the French doors open to create a lounge room extension.

In the heart of bohemian Greenwich Village famous for attracting Beatniks, hippies and the generally curious in the second half of the 20th Century; Greenwich Village is accredited for many artistic, cultural and political movements. A short stroll is all it takes to discover an abundance of colourful eateries, fashionable bars and tiny independent boutiques and galleries. From world-class fine-dining to legendary local bistros packed-full of personality there are options for all tastes and budgets. Window-shop along Bleecker Street and explore Greenwich Village’s political past on Christopher Street.

The restlessness of Greenwich Village is tangible and there is no better way to feel this, than on foot. Stumble upon celebrated jazz clubs, art house cinemas, and specialist markets selling anything from 80’s vinyl to reimagined home furnishings.

Stroll a little longer to explore the nearby neighbourhoods of Tribeca, Soho and Little Italy. From Chelsea pick-up the High Line, a 1.45 mile long elevated green space developed on an unused rail track in 2009.

We stayed with thesqua.re for the first time and I really liked the apartment and the facilities that were offered. A good staff and concierge made our stay comfortable and stress-free. Big thanks to the team.
