The first floor of the apartment consists of three great-looking living areas with access to two pretty courtyards.
The huge living room with enormous windows that allow light to pour in and fill the room, has an eclectic suite of modern comfy sofas and armchairs as well as a huge desk and indulgent day-bed. The French doors open out to the larger of the two courtyards. A huge studio style lamp will provide soft lighting after sun down.
The bright dining room with seating for eight and a library wall leads onto the modern kitchen and breakfast room. With sleek modern fittings and rustic touches the large kitchen with dining space for five is another social area designed for communal living. The French doors in the kitchen lead out to the second courtyard with its own wooden table and chairs. A petit laundry room is hidden at the end of the corridor as well as a small bathroom and an ante-room introducing the staircase to access the upper floor.
All four bedrooms are bright and fresh with luxurious white linens. The master bedroom boasts a queen size bed, an office and a bathroom with walk-in shower. It also has a large dressing room with plenty of hanging space and a secret spiral staircase leading up to an additional office space hidden away at the top of the house. Ideal for peaceful isolation if you’re hoping to get some work done during your stay.
All three remaining rooms have closets with hanging space and shelves. The second bedroom has a mezzanine floor with a single bed in each part. The third bedroom has two single beds that can be brought together to create a double room. And the final room has two single beds that cannot be pushed together. This floor also benefits from a TV area with a large flat screen TV and a selection of DVDs and further bathroom with luxurious monsoon shower and classical wash basin.
Blessed with green spaces and serene waterscapes; Palais Royal in the 1st Arrondissement is a peaceful haven in the centre of town. Enjoy the views of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées from the Jardin des Tuileries, take in a French theatrical classic at the ComédieFrançaise and witness the trophy of Haussmann’s architectural renovation of Paris; Place de la Concorde. Musée de Louvre is only 10 minutes away on foot and is opposite the Palais Royal itself.
The big brands of Boulevard Haussmann and Avenue des Champs-Élysées are close by, but hidden away among the winding cobbled streets and traditional shopping arcades of the 1st Arrondissement are a colourful collection of independent boutiques selling vintage clothing, surreal homeware, hand-made toys and countless other curiosities. The area is also home to many excellent but understated brasseries, boulangeries and wine bars.
Cross the Seine to La Rive Gauche and you’re quickly in the heart of fashionable Saint-Germain. With quick access to Metro lines 1,3,7 and 14 from the three surrounding Metro stations (Pyramides, Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre, Quatre-Septembre), you’re in a great spot to explore the city on foot or underground.
