This cool city-center retreat sleeps 8 and is styled to perfection. A quietly confident first floor apartment on the very pleasant Rue de Clichy a street associated with the “Madness” of the 18th and 19th Centuries.

Enter the warm glow of the spot-lit entrance hall and straight through to the main salon.  A seriously cool space where textures collide and earthy neutral tones are the foundations to a natty, inventive room. Minimal furnishings have been expertly curated. This place oozes effortless style and nods to many of the European interior design trends of the past half century.

The magnificent dining room and kitchen have a beautiful farmhouse tiled floor and formal dining for six in a room that is anything but. The modern kitchen overlooks the pretty courtyard and has a breakfast bar for four. These beautifully arranged communal spaces encourage communal living and collaboration.

The first two bedrooms are bright, fresh doubles with big windows that share a modern bathroom with sleek fixtures. Bedrooms three and four are elegant singles with access to their own bathrooms. Bedroom five enjoys street views from the lovely French windows and contains a single bed with trundle pull-out, ideal for two little ones.


The “Madness” describes a flamboyant, excessive period in Parisian history when its wealthiest inhabitants were preoccupied with building extravagant Folies or holiday homes for the purposes of pleasure. Rue de Clichy was one of the most central hubs for these elaborate pastimes.

The 9th Arrondissement is a pretty and popular area. Inspiring Édouard Manet and Claude Monet, among others, to create their famous depictions of Gare Saint Lazare in the late 19th Century, today the area benefits from an abundance of brasseries, boulangeries and boutiques.

Head East towards Faubourg Poissonnière for some of Paris’ most eclectic shopping arcades. We love roaring Passage Jouffroy and maze-like Passage des Panoramas. Head further East still and you’ll arrive at colourful Le Marais popular for its independent brands and unique caves (wineries). Sneak a peek at the grandest cinema in Europe and catch an international blockbuster at the beautiful Grand Rex.

North, you’ll ascend Montmartre; a higgledy-piggledy labyrinth of stairways and boho shopping lanes. At its peak you’ll find both the stunning Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and arguably the best views in Paris.

Welcome was prompt and courteous. Host showed us through the apartment and all the provisions made for our stay to be comfortable. Flat was as described and very nice. The location was close to transport and other amenities. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Superb location and connected to local restaurants, supermarkets and tubes. Also well available and attentive staff taking care of everything we needed. Rooms were spacious and bright. Loved staying here.

We had a gala time staying in this attractive huge apartment that is well-equipped with all the modern amenities. My kids enjoyed playing in the living area, which is quite spacious. Kitchen is cozy but washroom was big. Overall, we had good time staying in this Parisian wonder!
