Getting around in Swindon

Swindon has excellent bus coverage with routes across the town centre, its periphery and the surrounding towns - including regular services towards Chippenham and Oxford. The Thamesdown Travel Card is the town’s contactless payment system, which can be easily topped up and used to pay for bus fares on all participating routes. It is also possible to add on travel concessions for price reductions on multiple days of travel.

The railway station is located in the centre of the town and offers excellent links to much of the UK. There are regular services into London Paddington, with a journey time of around an hour, as well as trains direct to Southampton, Cardiff and Swansea.

Taxis are also a great option for making short journeys across the town as well as to the surrounding areas which are harder to reach by public transport.
