The TfL includes the underground (commonly known as the tube), overground, buses, DLR, tram and national rail and with everything operated under one company, the ticketing system is very logical once you familiarise yourself with it.

London is divided into 6 travel zones with zone 1 being the centre, zone 2 the outer centre and so forth. Using a London travel map, you can easily see which zone your station is in and how many zones you need to travel. Your ticket price depends on how many zones you travel, and you can see all up to date fares.

When travelling on the underground or other public transportation, it is advised to get an Oystercard. Oystercards can be bought at ticket offices and off licences, and can be topped up as desired. If you are using public transportation twice or more a day, it is advised to buy a weekly, monthly or annual travel card so you can travel at a cheaper fare within the zones you need to travel. For example, if you live in zone 3 and work in zone 1, you can get a monthly pass for zones 1-3 and travel freely anywhere within these zones. If you have a contactless credit or debit card, you can use this instead of a travel card at the same fare.

Please note that it is not possible to buy bus tickets on the bus and you must therefore have a valid Oystercard or contactless card to be able to travel with the bus. For all other TfL services, you can buy tickets at the station for only one journey if desired.

For investors and fund managers, the opportunities in London real estate seem to be ever changing and expanding. Non-traditional real estate investments have increased from 4% to 11% over the last 10 years, and general investments options have increased globally. The recent oil price collapse has encouraged capital allocation to focus on income generating assets.

Suddenly, student housing has more appeal and is become a mainstream option, and ageing hospitality and healthcare buildings are opening up innumerable investment opportunities that the market hasn&rsquo;t seen before. We are now truly seeing an added value to these public buildings and non-traditional investments are therefore peaking like never before. The value is especially seen with operators who can add additional assets with renovation, sustained rental uplifts and IT.

A returning concern and topic of discussion in real estate is Brexit, which will undoubtedly slow deals and increase volatility in the short term. Investors worry that if Britain leaves the EU it may have a negative effect on currency and the real estate market suddenly becomes very uncertain. The long term picture may not actually be that much different and the damage may be minimal, but the real estate industry seem to already feel the implications &ndash; regardless of whether the UK actually decides to leave the EU.

Our&nbsp;Shoreditch Square serviced apartments are located a 3 minute walk from Hoxton Overground station, just around the corner from the popular Sunday market Columbia Road Flower Market and with countless&nbsp;bars, restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute radius. The apartments are newly built (less than a year old) with one or two bedrooms, a spacious balcony and luxurious bathrooms.

2015 is almost over and we&#39;ve had an exciting year here at thesqua.re, especially in the last 2 quarters of the year after we rebranded&nbsp;from House of MoLi to thesqua.re.

We want to wish you all a very merry christmas and a happy 2016 and thank you for the year that passed!

<h3>What happened&nbsp;at thesqua.re in 2015?</h3>

1. We increased our London portfolio considerably and entered some completely new areas in London such as <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/london/notting-hill/serviced-apartments">Notting Hill</a> and <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/london/nine-elms/serviced-apartments">Nine Elms</a>, <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/london/battersea/serviced-apartments">Battersea</a>.

2. We became the first UK Serviced Apartments provider to secure investment through crowdfunding.

3. Our <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/paris/serviced-apartments" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Paris</a> and <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/new-york/serviced-apartments" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">New York</a> networks grew - and will grow even more in the first quarter of&nbsp;2016.

4. We received the <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/blog/thesqua-re-wins-asap-industry-breakthrough-award" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Highly Commended &#39;Industry Breakthrough&#39; award</a> at the annual ASAP convention.

5. Our loyalty scheme was kicked off, giving all online bookers <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/squ.air-miles-reward-programme">loyalty points</a> that can be used as savings on future bookings.

6. Our tech, creative and marketing team grew significantly in London and India to constantly improve our tech offering and user experience.

7. 9. We started hosting <a href="https://www.thesqua.re/about/events" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">community events</a> for our residents in London - something we will pick up even more in 2016.

Yesterday, thesqua.re attended the annual Association for Serviced Apartments Providers (ASAP) Convention where a wide range of industry professionals met to discuss business, attend seminars and socialise at the dinner and award show in the evening. We are proud to be part of an industry with so many talented and motivated people and it&#39;s always a pleasure when we get together.

We were nominated for the &#39;Innovation&#39; and &#39;Industry Breakthrough&#39; awards and we are proud to announce that we won&nbsp;the Highly Commended&nbsp;award for Industry Breakthrough. The last couple of months have been very exciting for us, and it&#39;s truly amazing to win an industry award just 3 months after launching our new brand. Hopefully this will be the first of many on thesqua.re&#39;s journey.

Big thanks to ASAP for an interesting convention and to all our colleagues in the serviced apartments industry.
