The pursuit of knowledge drives and inspires the ceaseless work of research scientists across the globe. Whether it is in the field of science, technology or medicine, the work of these researches directly benefits society as a whole.

That is why we have launched thesqua.re grant.

thesqua.re grant programme provides researchers in medicine, hard science and technology with £5,000 worth of accommodation- or the equivalent of a one month stay in one of our central London apartments.

The aim of thesqua.re grant is to provide financial support for innovative and original research proposals of exceptional potential. The choice of theme, the design and the scope of the research project sits entirely with the applicant or the institution attached to the applicant.

Universities, registered charities which have the research capacity equivalent to that of a university and other higher educational groups are all eligible to apply for thesqua.re grant.

We are now accepting applications for thesqua.re grant

During my time as a graduate student at the University of Chicago and later at London Business School, I was aware of the immense cost of accommodation whilst studying. In fact, I had to drop out of graduate school in Chicago because I could not fund both my degree and pay for living expenses at the same time.

Such costs can be a deterrent when it comes to research and, as such, prevent exciting projects from getting off the ground due to the necessity of having to pay rent- but it should not have to be this way. thesqua.re grant is an initiative that we have set up with the intention of giving back to our community, and particularly to researchers working selflessly towards the advancement of medicine, science or technology.
