Located southwest of Kuala Lumpur’s Central Business District, Bangsar is a modern residential, commercial, and entertainment area of the capital city. Easily accessible within a 10-15 minutes drive from the CBD, this neighborhood is an hour away from the International Airport. Bangsar is part of the Lembah Pantai parliamentary constituency and is administered by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) unlike other townships which have their municipal council.
In the early 1900s, this area had huge rubber plantations, and the estate was owned by its plantation firm Société Financière des Caoutchoucs (Socfin).
In the 1950s, due to its convenient location, several companies housed their staff and families here, and slowly Bangsar started growing as a premium residential area.
