• One World Observatory - Atop the newly built One World Trade Center building, the observatory is a deck offering gorgeous views from the 100, 101 and 102 levels which is an astounding 1,776 feet above NYC. The elevator that goes to the top offers a surreal experience with its panels displaying New York’s transformation over the decades. The glass building is a unique behemoth on the glitzy Manhattan skyline. 
• 9/11 Memorial and Museum - Pay your respects to the souls of those who tragically lost their lives on September 11th, 2001 when the twin 110 storied towers of the World Trade Center were destroyed by suicide jetliners. There are now two square pools covering an acre each, offering a special tribute to almost 3,000 individuals killed in the attacks and 6 people who were tragically killed in the previous bombing of the World Trade Center in February 1993. The recessed pools, surrounding greenery and North America’s biggest man made waterfalls contribute towards creating a solemn yet tranquil ambiance. The pools are surrounded by panels with names of all those who lost their lives. There is also the 9/11 Memorial Museum which is housed in a curving glass structure between the pools, showcasing photos, videos and artifacts that will touch your heart. 
• High Line - A unique addition to NYC, High Line has been transformed into an urban walking trail cum oasis above the streets from an erstwhile railway line. This public park is dotted with several trees and plants including numerous native species as well. Lined with glass railings throughout most of its stretches, the elevated walking trail offers panoramic city views that are a photographer’s delight. There are benches throughout the entire route in tandem with art installations and a dedicated sitting area as well. The south section goes through the Meatpacking District with innumerable fine dining outlets and trendy eateries while the Whitney Museum of American Art is on the southernmost access point for the trail. Getting off the High Line at the 16th Street access point will help you visit the famous Chelsea Market that is lined with several novelty stores and restaurants alike. 
• Times Square- Who hasn’t heard of Times Square with its magnificent screens and billboards? Well, here’s your chance to experience the magic upfront! This is the location of the famous New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city and the ball drop at midnight when people throng the square and its surrounding streets. Times Square is a perennially busy thoroughfare with bleachers set up at one zone for taking a break and adjusting to the madness! Earlier known as Longacre Square, the name Times Square came into being after the development of the New York Times tower here. The newspaper first had current headlines being posted along with the moving sign in 1928 which was the first of its kind worldwide! 
• Fifth Avenue - Shopaholics will love the stretch along Fifth Avenue, one of the USA’s most famous shopping hubs. From top global designers and their flagship stores to reputed brands like Cartier, Tiffany, Saks Fifth Avenue and the iconic Apple Store on Fifth Avenue, there’s plenty to discover here! The posh thoroughfare runs till the New York Public Library from the southern end of Central Park. 
• The Frick Collection - This is one museum that you will absolutely love checking out! The Frick Collection sits atop the list of the most eclectic New York City museums, being accommodated in a majestic 1900s mansion which was donated (along with the original collection) by Henry Clay Frick who built it for showcasing his masterpieces. The artwork on offer includes specialty furniture, paintings, porcelain artifacts and more spread across 16 galleries. Find works by Rembrandt, Monet, El Greco, Bellini and several masters here. The rooms are centered by a lovely covered Garden Court with a pond and tropical plants, creating a lush oasis to take an occasional break. 
• New York Public Library - New York’s public library had its main branch designed superbly by architects Hastings and Carrere in the very heart of the city, sporting the Beaux-Arts design template. The library is a sight to behold with its majestic rooms and huge Main Reading Room which covers a couple of blocks alone. The Periodicals Room itself has more than 10,000 current magazines in the world. A vast collection aside, the history and ambiance are major draws for visitors here. 
• Wall Street - Reminisce the Wolf of Wall Street all over again at this globally famous stretch covering 8 blocks till South Street from Broadway. The surrounding areas and thoroughfare itself are home to some of the biggest and most vital global exchanges including the NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange and New York Mercantile Exchange. The Federal Hall is located nearby in addition to the Trinity Church. Don’t miss the iconic Charging Bull statue at Bowling Green along Broadway. • Radio City Music Hall - Another designated New York City landmark, Radio City Music Hall is located near the Rockefeller Center and was built in 1932 in the art-deco style. The Rockefellers financed the development of the structure back in the 1930s and it once had the biggest indoor theater in the whole world. The venue now hosts several marquee events including the Tony Awards and the Grammy Awards. 
• Carnegie Hall - Opened to the public in 1891 as the first big concert hall in New York, Carnegie Hall has a chequered history of its own. The legend goes that acclaimed musical legends like Tchaikovsky performed on its opening night while other greats like The Beatles and Leonard Bernstein have performed amidst its hallowed portals which contain some of the best global acoustics ever heard! While you can always look out for a major performance in the offing, the guided tour is no less fascinating, offering amazing insights into the hall’s history, construction and famous artists who have performed here. • Bryant Park - Summers are when New Yorkers congregate for lazy and relaxed afternoons at Bryant Park where the lush grounds have gardens and monuments galore. The Le Carrousel is a famous carousel while there is a game area with checkers, chess boards and backgammon boards. Pay a small fee and you can sit down to invigorating contests with buddies. Taking in the serene and beautiful ambiance all around, you’ll be surprised to learn that Bryant Park was once notorious for crime till the year 1989 at least. However, the city reclaimed this beautiful space, transforming it into a green urban oasis of calm and tranquility. The park is much loved by locals and is a sheer delight to pass through today.
