Singapore is a special place, a never forgotten and unique experience for everybody who has visited.
Most people who visit always make plans to go back. Whether you seek peace, action, culture or food you can find it here along with any other attraction you can think of.
One of the unique things about Singapore is that it’s constantly evolving. It reinvents itself week by week, month by month. Even if you visit the place every year you are still guaranteed a visit (and a vista) that’s completely new and exciting.
The problem with Singapore is that every inch of it is a ‘must see’ place, you don’t want to leave until you have seen it all. Which is probably why people keep coming back!
Finding the right places to stay in Singapore is the first thing to think about. Finding the right places to visit during your stay is the second.
Top of most people’s lists for both of these considerations is Marina Bay,
Marina Bay is located at the heart of the Central Area of Singapore so it is ideally situated. Thesqua.re has serviced apartments in Marina Bay which are available for long term lets, giving you plenty of time to explore the city.
Marina Bay is actually, and obviously, a bay, but it also lends its name to the surrounding area too, an area of about 890 acres of reclaimed land that is right next to the Central Business District.
It is a locale which is used for a whole host of things, including residential, commercial, hotels and entertainment purposes. The latter use is evident when you consider some of the amazing events that are hosted in the area.
Since 2008 the Singapore Grand Prix has taken place adjacent to Marina Bay, on an exciting street circuit. Every year this event alone attracts thousands of visitors.
The world’s largest floating stage is based at Marina Bay and, whilst it’s worth seeing in itself, it plays host to some amazing sights. The Float @ Marina Bay is located in the Marina Reservoir and the viewing gallery has a crowd capacity that allows 30,000 people.
The Float has hosted the National Day Parade, football matches, concerts and water display events since it first opened in 2007.
Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is a performing arts centre and another great draw for visitors to Marina Bay. It is made up of a 1,600 capacity concert hall and a theatre, which can seat around 2,000 people. Its external design, made up of two rounded space frames, is an attraction itself.
It’s not all brand new infrastructure at Marina Bay however, there’s plenty of natural beauty to behold which is not just the coastline. Two hundred and fifty acres is given to Gardens by the Bay, a park which is made up of three beautiful gardens, Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden.
Gardens by the Bay is a feature which helps to promote the governments vision for Singapore as a “City in a Garden”.
