1 Bedroom Apartment at West 15th Street & 8th Avenue

Description

Not-so-secret Chelsea has been a popular district with locals and visitors alike for a couple of decades now. The influx of independent boutiques, food halls and eateries make its colourful markets, renovated factories and re-purposed galleries a must-see for many visitors.

This sensitively renovated apartment is an ideal base to explore diverse and trendy Chelsea. The generous proportions once inside mean you get a lot of bang for your buck, unusual in highly sought after Chelsea.

The stand-alone bedroom is quite lovely with rosey wooden floors, a fantastic double bed with twin bedside cabinets and matching lamps. Through into the long living space you’ll find a compact capsule kitchen with dining table and seating for up to four guests overlooking a lovely window. Further inside you will come to the comfortable lounge room with retro coffee table and working desk space.

This is a great apartment for a couple or solo traveller hoping to be in the thick of the action during their stay.

Area info

For much of the second half of the 20th Century the area now known as Chelsea was an industrial centre typified by factories and warehouses. The 1990’s saw a decline in demand for such vast industrial spaces and a rise in contemporary art lovers looking for affordable unusual gallery space and the rest is history. Today Chelsea is New York’s contemporary art Mecca with many high-profile galleries such as Gagosian and Gladstone.

Chelsea Market, inside the reclaimed National Biscuit Company factory building is a huge a varied indoor food hall with over 35 vendors selling anything from coffee and cakes to wine and cheeses. Pop-in for breakfast but don’t be surprised if you stick around until after lunch.

Pick up the High Line, a 1,400 ft long unused railway line that has been renovated into one of Manhattans most interesting green spaces. Hop off at Hell’s Kitchen for excellent value dining from all over the world

It was our best stay in the lively neighbourhood Chelsea. My stay with thesqua.re was one of the finest experiences I had in my several visits to the city. I travel a lot and always prefer homestays where I have the freedom to come in and go out whenever I feel like. I like cooking my own food since I can’t imagine munching outside for a month or so. The flat looked really cool, furniture was in good condition and other facilities were also there to make my stay comfortable. It was a home stay in a true sense.
