I'm not the biggest fan of the public transport in the city but at the same time would like to know what is a reasonable amount of money to spend on cabs if I'm travelling 10-12 miles, 4 days a week. Suggestions/advice?

Great question - I know that before you step into a London Black Cab there is generally £2.50 already on the meter! Fare costs are all down to the amount of traffic there is on the roads I suppose.
