Located between Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan, Streeterville is one of the most prime areas in Chicago. The name came from Mr. Streeter who came to Chicago in the 1800s with his wife Maria. As per the local history, the couple hit a bad storm while they were taking their boat out on Lake Michigan and drifted to 450 feet east of Michigan Avenue. Captain Streeter decided to claim the land though he was unsuccessful in doing that his legacy remained in this area. An eight-foot-tall bronze sculpture was made a few blocks from the river and the area was named Streeterville.
