With an extensive network of streetcars, busses and cable cars, the Muni- as named by locals- serves every major tourist hubs, business centres and residential districts. The BART is the primary operator in the Bay Area. Its extensive train network connects San Francisco with Peninsula and East Bay cities and both airports in the city. Car hire is available across the city, however it is not recommended due to the excellence of San Francisco’s public transport networks.
