The original cemetery entrance lodge, the property sits at the main entrance to Locksbrook Cemetery just off Upper Bristol Road – one of the main routes in and out of Bath. There are two clearly marked car parking spaces next to the building, outside the cemetery gates.
Despite being surrounded on three sides by the trees and greenery of the cemetery, with no immediate neighbours, Locksbrook Lodge is just 25 minutes’ walk from Bath’s historic heart where visitors will find all the city’s most famous sites.
The most attractive route into the city centre is along the River Avon riverside path but a 10-minute stroll along Upper Bristol Road will take you to Bath’s Royal Victoria Park. This is a magnificent green space of trees, ponds, open lawns and the Botanical Gardens, with the famous Royal Crescent at the other end. Above the park is Bath Approach Golf Course, an 18-hole course set right in the midst of the city.
Closer to home, Chelsea Road, a couple of minutes’ walk from the lodge, is a bustling local high street with a generous range of lovely welcoming cafes and stores for a great brunch and any essentials.
It is a 30-minute walk through the historic city centre to reach Bath Spa train and bus stations or a five-minute taxi journey.
