This charming apartment is a cosy home away from home in the genteel district of St-Germain-des-Prés. Once the intellectual and creative hub of the beautiful French capital, the area is now home to chic cafés, bookstores and boutiques.

The large two-bedroom apartment has a surprise in store – it enjoys glimpses of the nave of the church of St Germain-des-Prés, the oldest church in Paris, through nearby foliage and Parisian rooftops. The 11th century Romanesque tower remains a defining feature of the neighbourhood. Situated on the third floor of a secure building, the traditional yet warm apartment offers a spacious living area, master bedroom with ensuite and second bedroom that doubles as an office. An enchanting writing desk by the window takes you back to a time when legendary local Ernest Hemingway sat for hours scribbling at nearby Les Deux Magots café.

The master bedroom has a double bed, while the second bedroom is furnished with a double sofa bed suitable for everyday use. A single sofa bed allows a fifth person to sleep. The second bathroom is equipped with a spacious bathtub in which guests can unwind after pounding the tree-lined St Germain-des-Prés pavements. Also provided is a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, oven, coffeemaker, dishwasher and utensils should you choose to spend an evening in. While dotted with antiques in the living and dining areas, the apartment comes complete with all modern necessities that guests expect, including high-speed internet, 90 international TV channels and unlimited free calls to landlines in 90 countries.

Area info

St-Germain-des-Prés is steeped in literary and artistic history. Giants of both worlds, including Ernest Hemingway, Simone de Beauvoir, Picasso and Jean-Paul Sartre, have lived in and been inspired by the neighborhood. Today, the area is a lively gem with numerous upscale restaurants, bookstores and boutiques. The spirit of the French Revolution was born in the historic cafés that dot the neighborhood such as Café Procope, a Parisian institution established in the 17th century.

The 6th arrondissement might be famous for these cafés, but the fabulous shopping in this area is a real treat. Enjoy exploring Boulevard Saint-Germain, Rue de Rennes, Boulevard du Montparnasse, Rue de Buci and the charming Cour du Commerce St-André. It is, however, the bookstores and small specialty shops that make the 6th truly one of a kind. St-Germain-des-Prés is the perfect place for a refined stay in Paris. Each street has a different history and walking tours are popular. It is also well served by metro and bus links.
