1 Bedroom Apartment on Madison Avenue

Description

Set in a classic walk-up prewar building in Midtown, this one bedroom studio-style loft apartment is within walking distance to some of Manhattans most iconic hotspots. The original fireplace, golden wood floors, and symmetrical sash windows are the fashionable foundations of the bright and airy living quarters. Two queen beds dominate the far end of the room and punctuate the functions of this large room. The sofa and TV comprise the lounge area. The separate full family kitchen has everything you might need and the dining table can accommodate up to six guests. The bathroom is also completely separate and boasts original features. Here you’re just a few blocks away from the neo-gothic intricacies of St Patrick’s Cathedral on 5Avenue, the theatres, galleries and waterfalls inside the Japan Society and the stunning Chrysler Building whose sparkling crown and automotive gargoyles exemplify the Machine Age. The record breaking Empire State Building, painstakingly restored art deco interiors of Radio City Music Hall and magical Morgan Library are also within strolling distance.

Area info

In a city equally obsessed with food and property, with soaring living costs and a rampant tipping culture, the alluring dining fads of yesteryear seem to be dulling and good value fine-dining in elegant but unstuffy surroundings appear to be reigning supreme.

We love the bar lounge at Gabriel Kreuther’s where you can dine on tasty tarte flambée and gratiné for approximately half the price of the main restaurant. George Mendes’s Lupulo is an informal Portuguese seafood gastro-bar with fresh, authentic dishes and a masterful bacalhau-and-potato casserole.

Smith & Wollensky steak house (as featured in The Devil Wears Prada) is a Midtown institution. Preparing dry-aged Prime steaks on-site, artfully brought to your table by old-school waiters, dinner here is certainly an experience.

Midtown is famed for the diverse global representation of its dining options. An abundance of excellent down-to-earth brunch options pepper the streets around this apartment. Stylish hotel bars, quirky Irish pubs and candlelit jazz caverns welcome guests until late in the city that never sleeps.

The location is great, near a subway stop and off the beaten track so I could sleep soundly. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice warm place to stay!

My stay at Madison avenue was good. It was a lovely apartment with a compact kitchen. I would recommend it to those who are looking for a premium homestay in this neighbourhood. Must consider.
