Up on the 2nd floor of a classic Manhattan brownstone walk-up building, sandwiched between Broadway and Central Park, equidistant to the Lincoln Centre and the Museum of Natural History – This archetypal 1 bedroom NYC apartment couldn’t be more central.
With an entire side of the apartment in exposed brick, an easy chair with massage settings worthy of an episode of “Friends” and views across the street on to more traditional brownstone buildings you will know you’re in the Big Apple from the second you drop your bags. Deep wooden floors and sharp cream walls create a fresh, modish environment.
The bedroom with more brownstone views has a comfortable double bed and a large chest of drawers. The kitchen enjoys a full wall of exposed brick and has been thoughtfully designed with scale in mind to utilise the space. The soft cream bathroom has a simple modern suite. A lovely apartment in a great and secure building in a lively part of town.
The Upper West Side is famous for its two-towered apartment buildings soaring above the canopy of trees lining the West Side of Central Park. The Lincoln Centre is home to the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera and the New York City Ballet. We strongly recommend you book tickets in advance. But don’t worry if you didn’t – you can enjoy jazz and cabaret sessions in the on-site café or visit the American Folk Art Museum for “Free Music Fridays”.
Do as the West-siders do and indulge in cinnamon waffles, bacon and eggs, sharp cheeses, Bloody Marys and bagels at any of the excellent brunch bistros that satisfy hungry crowds long after lunch.
In the evening dive into top-quality global cuisine represented across town. You’ll find delicate tapas bars and Michelin stars on the upper levels of the Time Warner Centre at Columbus Circle. For a special occasion why not book a table over-looking Central Park, in the Terrace at Jean-Georges, the epitome of fine dining combining French, American and Asian.
