Culture & shopping in Peterborough

Getting around in Peterborough

Peterborough itself isn’t particularly expansive and so most visitors will be happy to get around on foot or make use of the extensive cycle lanes. However the town also features superb public transport links - the local bus network offers comprehensive routes between the major landmarks and surrounding areas,  which accept contactless payments and are also covered by the PlusBus scheme.

The main railway station also offers fast and direct access to much of the UK, with up to six trains per hour running into London and a journey time of under one hour. There are also quick services to Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Anyone driving into the city will probably find it easier to use the efficient Park & Ride services as opposed to trying to park in the centre, which can prove difficult at busier times.
