Calling all shopaholics! Grafton Street is one of the two principal shopping streets in Dublin city centre, (the other being Henry Street.) It runs from Saint Stephen's Green in the south (at the highest point of the street) to College Green in the north (to the lowest point). In 2008, Grafton Street was the fifth most expensive main shopping street in the world and the thirteenth most expensive main shopping street in the world. The area is also popular due to the range of great bars and restaurants to relax in, as well as it being a hive of professional activity!
Buskers, including musicians, poets and mime artists commonly perform to the shopping crowds on Grafton Street, and can boast internationally known musicians as once busking here - Damien Rice and Academy Award winner Glen Hansard have both plied their trade here! Well-known brands and fashion labels all have shops here, including Boots, Disney, Levis and Ted Baker.
Grafton Street is largely pedestrianised to allow more freedom to those looking to spend their Euros, with only the North End of the street open to vehicles. Recently there has been an extension to the ever-popular tram system that provides regular and reliable transport in and around the area.
