A harmonious 3-bed refurbishment at the foot of Montmartre, this huge apartment merges classic and contemporary and the result is an astonishing success.
Clean white walls, tanned parquet flooring, thoughtful lighting, spotlights and modern chandeliers exist alongside intricate moldings on the walls and ceilings, original decadent double doors and a feature fireplace. The proportions of this apartment are mammoth. Yet the huge living room is both cosy and stylish with a long low sofa, poufs that pop, and a hide hugging the rich parquet floor. Twin Full-height French doors with classic white shutters open out onto two balconies.
The first bedroom is in keeping size-wise. A comfortable double rests opposite a huge open-scaffolding storage wall with draws, hanging rails and shelves. Why not make your luggage a feature? The ensuite is great-looking and bordering on masculine with over-sized grey tiles, a chunky Swedish basin and rustic touches of reclaimed wood.
The second bedroom has a double sofa-bed and a desk. The French doors in this room give views over the courtyard. Through this room you can access the third bedroom, with twin bunkbeds.
The lovely large kitchen with breakfast table for four, fresh chrome trim and light bright worktops, is a wonderful social space.
The 9th Arrondissement is a pretty and popular area. Inspiring Édouard Manet and Claude Monet, among others, to create their famous depictions of Gare Saint Lazare in the late 19th Century, today the area benefits from an abundance of brasseries, boulangeries and boutiques.
Take a stroll South towards leafy and picturesque 1st Arrondissement. A serene district of tranquil waterscapes and symmetry; here you’ll find Musée de Louvre, Comédie Française, Jardin des Tuileries and Chanel’s favourite Palais Royal.
Head East towards FaubourgPoissonnière for some of Paris’ most interesting shopping arcades. We love colourful Passage Jouffroy and labyrinthine Passage des Panoramas. Head further East still and you’ll arrive at quirky Le Marais popular for its independent brands and unique caves (wineries).
North, you’ll ascend Montmartre; a higgledy-piggledy maze of stairways and pretty shopping lanes. At its peak you’ll find both the stunning Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and arguably the best views in Paris.
